Clients often ask me why I’m a newborn photographer. My story isn’t super unique or even very moving (lol). It started as a slightly strategic move as I was in a really good corporate job. However, having 3 kids at the time made being a mom and an executive stressful to say the least! I was looking for something that would give me flexibility in my career while also allowing me to provide for my family . . . and let’s be honest . . . get me out of the house a bit.
Like most moms, I had always loved photography as a way for me to document my own children. I thought I could take it a step further and learn help to document the growing families for so many others. It wasn’t easy to build a business and it wasn’t quick. It took me 10 years of hard work but I have built a business that I’m really proud of.
Proud? Yes, because I have worked tirelessly to learn how to create beautiful images that will adorn your walls and grace the pages of your albums. I hold myself to a very high standard and I put everything I have into artistically creating images that you will cherish for years to come.
And believe me, I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I know that it is an honor each and every time a new mom says she wants to work with me. Every time parents hand their 7 pound baby over to me I am humbled by the trust they put in me. I do not take that responsibility and trust lightly.
In 18 years when you baby is taller than you, drives on his/her own, has a life outside of your house and is headed out into the big world I want you to have something more than just a fading memory of your tiny person. As you look through your baby’s newborn album filled with beautiful images you’ll remember exactly how your newborn looked, the curl at the base of her neck, her milk drunk grin, her peeling fingernails and you might even remember her fresh newborn smell.
That is what I’m most proud of. The ability to turn back the clock for you. The ability to give you something now that you will love more and more with each passing year. That is what I do what I do.
